I moved to North Carolina in 1976 after finishing school at the New Orleans
Baptist Theological Seminary. I was involved with mission work with
Southern Baptists for almost 20 years. I moved to teaching high school
music and drama in 1994 at the local public high school and have truly enjoyed
it, most of the time. I also direct music at the local First Baptist
Church.
I met my wife, Barbara, at Louisiana College. She teaches in 1st grade.
Our oldest child Lori teaches 5th grade locally. Our son Marty is in his
second year of grad school at Duke University, majoring in Computer Science.
We are in the process of building a house on 4 acres at the top of a mountain
here in the Smokies. We are not far from Gatlinburg, Tn and only 8 miles
from the Cherokee Indian Reservation in NC.

After graduation, I attended La. Tech graduating in 1971. I taught
in Minden, La. for 17 years meeting my husband there. He is a teacher also. We
married in 1974 and after 27 years of marriage are still very close and do
things together. We have have two wonderful sons - David is 23 and Chad is 21.
We moved to Bossier in 1989, and I have taught 2nd grade at Apollo Elementary
since then. If you've never visited an open space school, you should drop by -
we have no inside walls - just one big room. It gets a little "wild"
sometimes. This will be my 31st year to teach. I will go into the DROP program
(a part of retirement) in December and plan to teach for three more years
after that if I can hold out that long. Then we look forward to traveling and
just doing "whatever". I'm proudest of my family - they are my
constant source of joy (and sometimes frustration). Neither son is married,
but I'm looking forward to being a grandmother all in good time - first things
first. I still go by the old neighborhood where I grew up periodically. My dad
still lived in the same house until he died of lung cancer in 1996. Mom died
of bone cancer in 1991. I miss them very much but am so glad they gave me the
foundation and moral values I needed for later on. They were so proud of their
grandchildren. Thank you Jim for doing such a remarkable job on this web site
and giving us the opportunity to catch up on "old" friends. I hope I
am able to attend the next reunion. I know it will be a lot of fun, and it
would be good to see everyone. I would love to hear from some old buddies.

Since the last reunion I attended (25th) , I have a new wife, Serena and 3
step-sons (culture shock). By day I work for Computer Sciences Corp doing life
insurance mainframe programming. By night I still try to be a
musician (Please buy my new CD :) ).We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I still have a
warped sense of humor, but that's okay.

I'm still a car auctioneer and work in S. Antonio Wed. and Thurs. and spend
the rest of my time here on the island. I love the beautiful Gulf of
Mexico and all that goes with it. Whatever you think that means.
Anyway I am very excited about the upcoming reunion. Can't wait to see
everyone. Jimmy

have 3 grandsons and one step granddaughter. We live on Lake Bistineau
